You can't value a smile
Unless you've tasted tears.
You can't value a great day
Unless you've faced dark nights.
You can't value love
Unless you've had you heart broken.
You can't value life
Unless you've seen a dream die.

Don't question the adversity
Don't curse the pain
Don't dwell on the problems
Don't lose the faith.

Only after the night will come the day
Only after the tunnel, the light.
Believe that you can-
and all your problems will fade away.

Discrepancies

It's different to part from a loved one
than to never have known what his love might be like
It's different to grieve over the past
Than to look back and remember the yearning
It's different to pray that you never part
Than to give up all hope of being together
It's different to have loved and lost
Than to never have been loved in return
It's different to be jealous and demand an explanation
Than to constantly remind yourself that they're happy together
It's different to cry because something reminds you of him
Than to shut your eyes against the world because it reminds you-
of his love for another
It's different to suffer through a break up
Than to regret that you never told him of your feelings
It's different to be rejected
Than to never have been considered

It's different the path that your life takes-
when you go through a hardship
It's different- the person you become
That comes as an ever-lasting after effect

My Life So Far

It is in freeing others, that thou are freed
In teaching others, that thou will learn
In helping others, that thou will be helped
In loving others, that thou will be loved
Because I have learnt that
The things we worry about the most are the simplest
The things we fear the most are the easiest
The things we treasure the most are the most common
The ones we love the most, go away

I have learnt that time waits for no one
That money is important, but not everything
That happiness can't be bought
That when you genuinely love someone,
you lose.

Yet, I continue to desire
I continue to worry
I continue to love
I continue to live....

Flash Back

When you told me to hold on
I laughed at the irony
You may have meant only the phone
But I had held on to the memories from the past 3 years

When you said that some people say
That everything happens for a reason
I almost said out loud
I never found out why you and me didn't

When you said that you felt like a punching bag
I knew even then, that you didn't know
That if you were hers
I was yours

When you got back together
I realized for the millionth time
That I was still yours
Even if you were never mine.

Bigger Than Me

You might forget your language
But when you are in need- you only pray to the God of your religion
You might not even watch the results
But you vote for your country's candidate
You might have never gotten along with your teachers
But to an outsider, you always defend your school
You might have left your city
But another place doesn't qualify as home
You might have a broken heart
But you don't stop wishing for a fairytale

Some things just are
Somethings don't come under a category
Some things can't be justified
Some things are bigger than us.

For My Emancipation

I don't know if I would sacrifice my life for you
'Cause I know that it matters not
You would never ask me to do so
For you've never seen me like I've seen you forever

I don't know if I would ever love another
But I know that it matters not
For your heart wouldn't bleed like mine does
When I see you both together

I don't know if we will ever meet again
But I know that it matters not
For you would never recognize me
As the one who loved you most

But I hope we meet again
Meet as friends, for we might never be lovers
In my heart, I know that that would be enough
Because for me, you matter most.

Chak De! India

Before I begin my actual point let me just say that while I'm an avid movie buff, I don't actually see a lot of movies(certainly not one every Friday), I watch movies only that i think may be exceptional or movies that everybody harps about and pushes me to watch.
Which brings me to the reason I watched Chak De so late after it's release.
I finally did watch it yesterday, and what a movie it was!! We clapped at EVERY goal, uttered some expletives at the enemy team and screamed with delight every time we won.
OH MY GOD! It was totally amazing and soo real despite most of the girls being first timers. The movie wasn't specifically about Shahrukh Khan, and not even about the much hyped Mir Ranjan. It was about Hockey by girls in a nation obsessed with cricket and producing boys.
It was about overcoming obstacles and going all out, about declaring war, about going against the odds. It was about showing some male chauvinists what a team of "docile" girls can do.
It was about swallowing your pride for the country and playing as ONE.

I could still write more about the movie but I'm only going to say that Anyone who hasn't seen it should get up- right Now and catch the next show.
